There was profound excitement at the Uganda Cranes’ Sunday evening training session when the team skipper, Farouk Miya trained for the first with the for the entire duration since his injury against Mali.
The team flouted the afternoon downpour to engage in a one hour session at the Umuganda stadium training facility in Rubavu.
Under chilly conditions, following heavy afternoon rains, the Uganda Cranes players trained in preparation for the Zimbabwe last group clash on Wednesday.
Miya, substituted in the first game against Mali during the 2-all draw because of a dislocated left arm, was part of the training session.
He looked sharper, lively and fresh than ever – a clear indication, he could be deemed fit for the Wednesday clash.
Should the team’s medical team of Ivan Ssewanyana and Ronald Kisolo pass the play maker fit for the game, Miya is most likely be named on the team ready for selection against Zimbabwe at Rubavu.
Uganda faces Zimbabwe in a must win situation of atleast two goals with the hope that Zambia defeats Mali in the other Group D match at Kigali Regional Stadium in Nyamirambo.
